HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A Crockery Township motorcycle crash injured three people, one critically, just after 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2, 2019, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Rick Sykes.
It happened on the eastbound I-96 ramp, where police found a 30-year-old Cedar Springs man had been on a 2002 Harley Davidson exiting eastbound I-96, but lost control of the motorcycle, crashing into the guardrail.
The crash ejected the man at the same time a 28-year-old Marne man, on 2011 Harley Davidson carrying a 24-year-old female passenger, hit the fallen motorcycle. The passenger was thrown off that motorcycle.
All were wearing helmets. The Cedar Springs man was rushed by ambulance to Hackley Hospital in critical condition, Sykes said. The two other crash survivors refused treatment at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation, but police believe speed was a factor.
