COLUMBIA TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The search for an 84-year-old Grand Junction man reportedly suffering from dementia and needing medication has ended successfully.
According to a Monday afternoon update from the Van Buren County Sheriff Daniel Abbott’s office, Charles Hazard “has been located and is safe.” He was last seen in the Hastings area around 4:30 AM on Saturday morning, admittedly lost and trying to find his way back home. Family and friends said that Hazard most often frequents the South Haven area.
Sheriff’s Sergeant Kyle Romeo, who was part of the team that has been on the case for the more than 48 hours since Hazard’s disappearance, didn’t elaborate as to the circumstances that led to the man’s discovery, or as to what led Hazard to be in the Hastings area in the first place. “Thank you for your assistance!” was the only message Romeo said.
