Adrian “Bud” Wayne Giles, 85, of Fennville, MI, passed away Friday, August 16, 2019 at his home with his family at his side. Born November 23, 1933 in Manila, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Lester and Virginia (Taylor) Giles and was the husband of Christine May (Woolf) Giles. Bud retired from Holland Hitch where he worked as a welder for thirty-eight years. He was a member of Ganges Baptist Church and a former member of the Allegan Moose Lodge. Bud was also a thirty-two-year member and Past Master of Dutcher Lodge No. 193 F. & A.M. He, along with his brother-in-law Rodney, donated countless hours to the Michigan Flywheelers and belonged to the Lakeshore Antique Tractor Club. He loved spending time working on and refurbishing old tractors and going to tractor pulls. Bud loved being outdoors surrounded by nature and he had a soft spot for all animals. Spending time with those he loved was his favorite pastime; especially going on camping trips with family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Chris, of fifty years; Bud is survived by his children, Gavin Giles, JoEllen (Scott) Foster, Rachael (Pastor Tom) Alexander, Ellen (Ernie) Kessler, Lester Giles, Stephanie (Shawn) Powers and Michael (Denise) Felltenbarger; a sister, Martha “Mot” Stanley; a brother-in-law, Rodney (Shirley) Woolf; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Aileen; brother-in-law, Harold Stanley; and sisters, Glenda (Lihue) Giles and Mary (Dub) Church.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Chappell Funeral Home. A funeral service with Masonic Rites will begin at 1:00 PM. Pastor Tom Case will officiate. Burial will follow in Taylor Cemetery. Contributions in Bud’s memory may be made to Ganges Baptist Church or Dutcher Lodge No. 193 F. & A.M.
