HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A hunch has paid off handsomely for the Holland Museum.
Ricki Levine had recently come on board as Executive Director when the decision was made to bring Spark! Lab, the brainchild of the Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation at the Smithsonian Museum of American History, onboard for its third Michigan location, and at this point, it’s only spot in West Michigan.
“The thought process was, ‘This could be good and exciting for the museum and for the community,’” Levine said during the monthly museum segment in “WHTC Talk of the Town” on Tuesday. “I think we have definitely exceeded expectations in terms of the number of people (who have participated) and the range of where people are coming from.”
The exhibit that allows children and families to create, collaborate, explore, test, experiment, problem solve and invent will be taken to Holland’s 8th Street Marketplace for Wednesday morning’s Kids Activities at the Holland Farmers Market before a special one-year anniversary party at the Holland Museum later in the day for Spark! Lab. This event is for Museum members only.
