UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM) – Before the next weekend comes, there are plenty of activities on tap in the Holland/Zeeland area.
The second to last Kids Activities Wednesday at the Holland Farmers Market for the season has the Holland Museum bringing its interactive Spark! Lab exhibit to the Eighth Street Marketplace. Staffers will be on hand as the youngsters will learn about the Macatawa Watershed and the importance of protecting it as part of keeping the Great Lakes clean. The Kids Activities starts at 9:30 AM as part of the Wednesday 8 AM-3 PM Holland Farmers Market.
During the 12 PM-1 PM Concerts in the Park free weekly lunchtime concert series on Wednesday at the GDK Park off of West 8th Street and Central Avenue in downtown Holland, blues guitarist Greg Nagy will perform. This summer series concludes on August 27th.
In neighboring Zeeland, the third and final Cycling in the City event for the season is set for Wednesday evening. Riders meet behind the Main Street Bicycling Company, and the only requirements for participating in this seven mile long jaunt are your own bike and helmet; the event is free of charge and has no age limitations.
The next night, Zeeland’s second annual Sweet Summer Night is slated for Elm Street between Cherry Street and Main Avenue. From 7:30 PM to 10 PM, the first 500 attendees will get complimentary Le Creme Gelato, popcorn and cotton candy. The movie “Mary Poppins Returns” will be shown in the Splash Pad at dusk – about 8:30 PM, according to organizers.
Also on Thursday evening, the Street Performer Series takes over 8th Street in downtown Holland, between College and River Avenues, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. This summer series concludes on August 29th.
