ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Although overshadowed somewhat locally by the Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area, the Allegan County Community Foundation provides just as valuable of support to organizations helping those living and working south of 32nd Street.
Officials of the foundation say that the Legacy Challenge, an effort to raise funds, will continue through the end of August. Any gift of 50 dollars or more to the ACCF’s Legacy Endowment will be more than matched by a 70 dollar gift by members of the foundation’s board, CEO Theresa Bray, staff and committee members.
This fund has awarded nearly eight million dollars since annual grants began when the foundation was founded in 1965. In a statement, ACCF Marketing and Growth Director Jennifer Collins said that the money raised, “will result in food for food pantries, counseling for domestic violence victims, environmental stewardship, art and educational programs for young and old, museums and so much more. Thank you for helping us respond to today’s and tomorrow’s challenges.”
