HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Downtown Holland will be jumping this weekend.
The festivities begin this evening with the weekly street performer series, followed by the annual sidewalk sale. Linda Hart of the Holland Area Visitors Bureau gets a front-row seat to all of the action, saying during a Thursday appearance on “WHTC Morning News,” “The sidewalk sale begins on Friday at 9 AM until 9 PM, and then again on Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Friday night is our typical late night for shops downtown, so it’s a perfect marriage.”
Does the crowd during the Sidewalk Sale rival that of Tulip Time? “Not necessarily rivals, but it gets pretty crowded,” Hart admitted. “Maybe it’s the same as a slower day for Tulip Time, on that Monday or a Tuesday, but definitely not on a Friday or a weekend.”
8th Street will be blocked off from College to River Avenues, beginning at 5 AM on Friday, for the sidewalk sale, although College, Central and River Avenues will still allow through traffic. More information is here.
