HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A head-on crash on U.S. 31, just north of Fillmore Street, sent two women to the hospital just before 9:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2019 according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Christie Wendt.
Police found a Ford F150, with a 52-year-old West Olive woman at the wheel, was northbound on U.S. 31, but drove across the grassy median, causing a head on collision with a southbound Nissan Murano, with a 73-year-old Elkhart, IN, woman at the wheel.
Both drivers went by ambulance to North Ottawa Community Hospital, their conditions undisclosed.
Southbound U.S. 31 was shut down for nearly 30 minutes, for the safety of all.
Alcohol does appear to be a factor in crash, which remains under investigation.
