Deloris “Lori” Vander Zwaag, age 86 of Holland, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2019 as a result of complications following a stroke.
Lori was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a long-time member of Graafschap CRC and formerly Prospect Park CRC. She was constantly active and in addition to raising her family, she worked in various service-related jobs until severe allergies forced her to remain home. Lori loved reading and working with her hands.
Lori is survived by her husband of nearly 68 years, Kenneth Vander Zwaag; children: Kristi and Peter Looman, Rebecca Steggerda, and Scott and Judy Vander Zwaag; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Barkel; in-laws: Roger and Lettie Vander Zwaag of Memphis, TN, Martin Van Staalduinen; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Lori was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Rhonda Ann Vander Zwaag; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Ed Smith; and in-laws: Janet Van Staalduinen, Justin and Betty Jo Vander Zwaag, and Paul Barkel.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 East 16
th
Street, Holland, MI 49423. Rev. Dr. Stan Scripps will officiate. There will be a time of visitation from 10:00 to 10:45 AM preceding the funeral on Monday, August 12. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to World Renew. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff at Appledorn South for their care and compassion for Lori.
