HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Anyone in the area of Holland’s 40th Street at South Washington Avenue Sunday afternoon saw a cluster of police cars and officers with their guns drawn.
It started with the report of a stolen car in Saugatuck, according to Allegan Undersheriff Michael Larsen.
The car had disappeared overnight in downtown Saugatuck.
Just before 1 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2019, Holland police spotted the car, with two occupants, in the 1100 block of South Washington, and conducted a high-risk stop — officers with guns drawn — which is standard procedure for a stolen vehicle, police said.
The suspects, a 25-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, were taken into custody without incident, and remain in Allegan County Jail, pending arraignment.
