Richard Edward Gliwa, 77, of Fennville, MI passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019 at his Hutchins Lake home. Born March 13, 1942 in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Joseph George Gliwa and Mary (Bandyk) Gliwa, husband of Joni (Simon) Gliwa and father to Ashley Rose. Also known as Richy, Deep Pockets Richie and R.G.; he was an avid fisherman and boater. Other passions included eating pizza, watching football, playing cards and going to the dragstrip. He loved hanging out with his buddies at the lake, often while sitting in his golf cart. Richy worked as a tuckpointer and was a member and union official for the Tuckpointers Local 52 for over forty years. He was the former owner and operator of Frontier Amusements. Richy liked reading and learning “all about the facts”. Above all else, family, friends and his loving companion Dallas were the most important parts of his life. Richy will be dearly missed by all.
The family will receive friends at Chappell Funeral Home on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM officiated by his nephew, Robert Topor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hutchin's Lake Improvement Association for a lakefront memorial in Richy's memory.
