HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — With temperatures predicted to hit the 90s today, July 18, 2019, through Saturday, here’s a list of public places to cool off.
Max Transit is offering free rides all day today. The bus service runs until 7 p.m.
- Herrick District Library is open until 6 p.m. The north branch,155 Riley St., is open until 7 p.m.
- Zeeland’s Howard Miller Public Librarym open until 8 p.m.
- the Saugatuck Douglas library, open until 6 p.m.
- Allegan Library, open until 9 p.m.
- Loutit District Library in Grand Haven, open until 9 p.m.
- Barber School, 102 W. Exchange St., Spring Lake, is a cooling center from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, as needed, but visitors need to bring their own activities and snacks.
- The Holland Civic Center is open until 5 p.m.
- Grand Haven Community Center. 421 Columbus Ave., open until 8 p.m. seven days a week.
- Splash pads on Holland’s Eighth Street, and in Zeeland, at Main Avenue and Elm Street next to the Zeeland City Hall, are operating. Zeeland’s splash pad has shaded seating for parents, easily accessible restrooms, drinking fountains, sunscreen and band-aid dispensers
- Holland firefighters will bring the water fun to Moran Park, at 3:30 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2019.
