FERRYSBURG, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Criticized by some for not conducting enough public town hall meetings in recent years, US House Representative Bill Huizenga will be stepping up before his constituents on Friday.
The fifth-term Republican from Zeeland will be joining state Senator Roger Victory for a mobile office hour from 10-11 AM at the Pine Street Café in Ferrysburg. Huizenga may face in person the Democrat he defeated in last November’s general election – Dr. Rob Davidson, the Spring Lake emergency room physician who has continued his vigorous social media attacks on Huizenga, Republicans and President Trump since that setback.
“I welcome whoever is able to come,” the Congressman said on Thursday during his weekly interview on “WHTC Morning News.” “At the end of the day, some people have been able to accept that elections happen, the results are what they are and you move on … and some people can’t accept that. We all have to answer for our own actions and for our words.”
In response to his critics, Huizenga’s spokesman Brian Patrick stated that, “This year, Congressman Huizenga has held open constituent/coffee hours in Baldwin, Hart, Holland, Wyoming and Zeeland, held two telephone town halls, and has participated in a town hall forum in Ludingon.”
