HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Nearly 100 people showed up for Monday’s open house at Holland’s Civic Center for homeowners to improve their energy use. People who didn’t make it can still get resources.
Ken Freestone, the city’s residential energy advisor, said homeowners who’ve had the work done can still get certified, so they have proof of the work that’s been done.
“They do an asset-based certification of the home to show all of the things that were install in a home for energy retrofit,” he said. “It’s hard for somebody to see air sealing and see the insulation. So, they verify it. They give a certifcaiton and they’re in partnership with the Appraisal Institute with the Natioanl Real Estate Association and the Department of Energy and Energy Star.”
Anyone who missed the open house can reach Freestone at his city office, (616) 355-1364, visit hollandenergyfund.com or email him at k.freestone@cityofholland.com.
