HOLLAND (WTHC-AM/FM) — Holland Department of Public Safety officers and detectives are still piecing together information after a rather wild incident near downtown Holland Thursday afternoon, June 13, 2019.
It started with a report of a man breaking into a home in the 200 block of West 10th Street just after 1:45 p.m. Dispatchers received several calls about the break-in, which led to a fight outside the home, in which one person, who had a machete, damaged a vehicle, and the other fired two rounds from a shotgun, according to police. Those were the only shots fired, according to Holland Police Capt. Keith Mulder.
Police arrived when one of the suspects was still present –the other had fled on foot, going west.
Officers corralled are arrested the fleeing suspect near West 14th Street and Harrison Avenue.
One suspect has been identified by police as a 29-year-old Holland resident, in violation of probation orders, now behind bars and awaiting the Ottawa County Prosecutor’s Office case review, as well as possible charges.
