Ralph Ten Have, age 88, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Freedom Village in Holland.
Ralph graduated from Calvin College and University of Michigan Medical School. He at first worked on Indian Reservations, then worked eight years in South East Asia, Korea, Malaysia, and Nepal. At different times he worked in Adoption, Orphanages, Medical Missionary Clinics, family planning, and infertility. In West Michigan, he worked on research and development of abortion at Heritage Clinic and Planned Parenthood of Kalamazoo.
His greatest joy was the warm companionship of his children. But he also enjoyed family pets, gardening, sailing, fishing, and skiing with his friends.
He was preceded in death by son; Thomas Ten Have, brother and sister-in-law; Arthur and Jean Ophoff; brother, William R. Ten Have; brother-in-law, Robert Hoekstra; sister and brother-in-law, Muriel and John Berghuis.
He is survived by his son; Andrew and Azusa Ten Have; daughter, Joyce Ten Have; daughter-in-law, Beth Ten Have; grandchildren, Anna Ten Have, Marina Ten Have; sister-in-law, Ruth Hoekstra; sister-in-law, Shirley Ten Have; and many nieces and nephews.
At his request, there will be no funeral, flowers, visitation, nor memorial service.
He will be buried in Zeeland Cemetery.
