HOLLAND (WTHC-AM/FM) — A 30-year-old man is in critical condition at Spectrum Butterworth in Grand Rapids after being stabbed in the neck, according to Holland Department of Public Safety Capt. Robert Buursma. Police are searching for the suspect.
Police were called to Bay Pointe Apartments at 10:20 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2019, and found the victim lying in the grass outside one of the buildings. He was conscious, Buursma said, and spoke to investigating officers.
Witnesses told police the victim and a few other acquaintances were socializing in his apartment when an argument started, followed by a physical fight.
During the fight, one of the visitors to the apartment stabbed the victim, then fled the scene.
The identity of the suspect is not yet known, Buursma said, but detectives continue investigating.
HDPS Officers were assisted on scene by HDPS Fire-services, Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office paramedic unit and AMR ambulance.
