HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Two adults and three children suffered minor injuries in a crash on Michgan Avenue near 28th Street in Holland at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2019.
Police found 20-year-old Zeeland woman, driving a 2010 Chrysler Sebring west on 28th, failed to yield the right of way, striking a 2013 Infiniti SUV with a a 37-year-old Holland woman at the wheel. The SUV had been southbound on Michigan, according to Holland Department of Public Safety Sgt. Jon Boeve.
The impact caused the SUV to roll. The drivers of the vehicles and three children who had been passengers in the SUV were treated and released on scene.
A 58-year-old Holland woman, driving a a 2017 Acura in which her daughter was a passenger, successfully swerved to avoid collision. The Acura ended up jumping the curb into a parking lot, flattening two tires. The Acura driver and her daugher were uninjured.
Michigan Avenue’s northbound lanes were partially blocked with police and fire vehicles for about an hour during crash investigation and cleanup.
