OTTAWA COUNTY (WHTC-AM/FM) — A construction crew hit a 6-inch, high-pressure gas main while working on Exchange Street renovation project in the Village of Spring Lake on Wednesday, according to Ottawa County Emergency manager Nick Bonstell.
Michigan Gas Utilities mobilized crews to repair the gas main, and should be done sometime this afternoon.
Emergency responders and repair crews will continue to monitor the natural gas levels surrounding the site until the repairs are completed.
Responders to the scene included the Spring Lake Fire Department, along with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, Ottawa County Emergency Management, and Michigan Gas Utilities
