OTTAWA COUNTY (WHTC-AM/FM) — Ottawa County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating several complaints of damage to mailboxes in a subdivision in the area of 36th Avenue and Lenters Road in Georgetown Township.
Sheriff’s deputies took 29 reports from victims whose roadside mailboxes where damaged, in the early morning hours of Sunday April 14, 2019, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Bennett. Late Sunday afternoon, a 39-year-old Hudsonville man called the Sheriff’s Office and claimed responsibility for the damaged mailboxes. Sheriff’s detectives and deputies are continuing their investigation and collection of evidence in this case. Those details and the suspect’s story to police will be sent to the Ottawa County Prosecutors Office for a decision.
