HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Trees are being cut down along a stretch of Holland’s 19th Street, part of the preparations for a seven-month BPW sewer and water system reconstruction project.
The project spans 19th Street between Central and Cleveland Avenues, and includes Cleveland Avenue between 17th and 19th streets. The project includes installating new sanitary sewer mains, water mains, storm sewer work, concrete sidewalk, concrete drive approaches, curbing and restoration of blacktop pavement.
Starting Monday, drivers will find the south lane of 16th Street closed between Cleveland and Ottawa avenues, to allow for excavation of the force main connection. That lane will remain closed for the morning, weather permitting, for worker safety.
Roads remain open during the tree cutting, but parking will not be permitted for areas where the cutting is happening, for safety’s sake.
Road closures will go into effect on April 10, 2019 – Cleveland from 17th – 19th (this will include the closure of the intersection of 17th & Cleveland-Motorists must seek an alternate route) as well as 19th St; Cleveland to VanRaalte Avenue.
