HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Holland mayor Nancy DeBoer is officially running for a third term.
She’s touting what is arguably her administration’s most-significant accomplishment, so far. (Listen to her full interview.)
” I am so thankful we got that Civic Center finished. That was a huge thing,” she said. “I had been on that other committee and it never happened and the thing went back on the shelf. I was so dedicated to making that happen, no matter what.”
DeBoer is facing a challenge from Holland attorney Nathan Bocks, who chaired the civic cetner committee, among other volunteer efforts.
DeBoer became mayor after beating long-time city councilman and mayor pro tem Bob VandeVusse vacancy left by Kurt Dykstra, who resigned from his mayoral seat after taking an out-of-state job.
In her last race, in she fended off a challenge by Ward 2 councilman Jay Peters for her current two-year term.
