HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Jeffereson Elementary School in Holland went briefly into lockdown status Tuedsay, March 12, 2019, after a pedestrian near 32nd Street and Washington Avenue claimed to be armed.
He was loudly threatening to hurt himself.
Holland Police officers responded, taking the 43-year-old Holland man into custody, according to Holland Police Capt. Robert Buursma, who said the man was not armed.
“He was not injured and did not have any firearms on him,” Buursma told WHTC. “He was subsequently transported to Holland Hospital for an evaluation.”
Jefferson School went into lockdown status as a precautionary measure, Buursma said.
