OTTAWA COUNTY (WHTC-AM/FM) — Hudsonville resident Sharon Boersma, 62, was seriously injured in a Saturday evening crash, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Dill.
The crash happened just after 6:30 p.m., March 9, 2019, on 40th Avenue, south of Port Sheldon Street in Georgetown Township.
Investigators believe Boersma was northbound on 40th Avenue, when she lost control of her 2018 Ford Escape in the snow and slush. The vehicle left the road and landed in a drainage ditch on the east side of the 40th. The ditch had about 5 feet of water in it, according to police.
Georgetown Fire Department extricated Boersma, who went by Life EMS ambulance to Metro Hospital for treatment of head and leg injuries.
This crash remains under investigation.
