HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Holland resident Lyn Raymond is planning to launch her campaign for a Holland City Council’s at-large seat.
Raymond directs the Lakeshore Housing Alliance at Greater Ottawa County United Way
Raymond will make a formal announcement during her official launch party, which starts at 7 p.m .Friday at The Biscuit on Washington Avenue.
Holland City Clerk’s office has listed the following information for qualified residents interested in running for mayor or city council.
Potential candidates must get petition forms and other information on candidate requirements from the City Clerk’s office. The deadline for submitting petitions is Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 4 p.m.
In addition to the at-large position, currently held by Wayne Klomparens, the following terms of office end on Dec. 31, 2019:
- 2nd Ward Jay Peters
- 4th Ward Brian Lynn
- 6th Ward Dave Hoekstra
Mayor Nancy DeBoer has already announced her re-election bid and Holland attorney Nathan Bocks has announced he’ll challenge her for the job.
The deadline for submitting petition to the Holland City Clerk’s office is Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 4 p.m.
Nominating petition forms and supplemental information are at Holland City Clerk’s City Hall office, 270 River Ave., which is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Petitions for mayor and council member-at-large require at least 60 signatures of qualified electors — 10 or more from each of Holland’s six wards.
A candidate for a specific ward council seat must get 20 to 40 signatures from their specific ward.
