Ivan “Ike” Van Koevering, age 79 of Zeeland, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty; his son, Rick and Tami Van Koevering of Zeeland; grandchildren and great grandchildren: Christopher Van Koevering (Makayla and Jayden), Heidi and John Dozeman (Clayton, Reid and Trey) and Holly and Brad Hassevoort (Bryson and Paxton); brothers: Reverend Gary and Elaine Van Koevering of Jenison, Paul Van Koevering of Forest Grove and Gene and Joyce Van Koevering of Hudsonville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Ron and Lois Dykstra of Byron Center and Sharon and Peter Boomstra of Texas.
Ike was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church. He owned Dykstra’s Furniture in Byron Center for 18 years; he then started Taylor Lawn and Turf in Hudsonville.
Ike enjoyed gardening, hunting and walleye fishing with his son Rick.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2019 at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 515 East Main Street, Zeeland. Interment will be in West Drenthe Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Zeeland Christian School or Bethel Christian Reformed Church.
