OTTAWA COUNTY (WHTC-AM/FM) — A car-tree crash left the driver seriously injured on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2019, in Zeeland Township, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Brian Buter.
The crash happened at approximately 12:30 p.m., according to Buter, when the woman, driving a Honda Accord, lost control while southbound on 96th Avenue near Ransom Street. Her vehicle crossed two lanes of traffic, striking a tree.
Police are not releasing her name, pending notification of family members. She went by ambulance to a Grand Rapids hospital for treatment of what Buter indicated were serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
Zeeland Township Fire/Rescue and AMR Ambulance assisted deputies at the crash scene.
