
Stanley J. Koster, 84, of Holland, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at the Inn at Freedom Village.
Born in McBain, MI, Stan taught at Northern Michigan Christian School, Grand Rapids Christian School and Trinity Christian College. He also served as the Superintendent of Holland Christian Schools from 1978 until his retirement in 1997. After retirement, Stan took on the role of Coaching Coordinator for the Christian Reformed Church, serving as a guide to many pastors, church councils and congregations. Throughout his life, Stan was a treasured mentor to many. Stan was a member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church and served in the US Army during the Korean War.
Stan is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marjorie Koster; children, Pamela Koster & Mindy Hale of Sante Fe, NM, Kurt (Joyce) Koster of Crown Point, IN, Steve (Mary) Koster of Holland; grandchildren, Jorie Koster-Hale, Nicholas (Sarah) Koster, Katie (Brian) O’Neill, Brad (Sammi) Jensen, Matthew Koster, Erin Koster, Annaka Koster; great grandsons, Will O’Neill, Lincoln Jensen; sister, Eldyne Richardson of Carmel, IN.
Memorial services are planned for 11:00 am Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Bethany Christian Reformed Church, 11 E 32nd St, Holland with Pastor Dan Walcott officiating. Burial will be in Aetna Cemetery in Missaukee County, MI. Visitation is scheduled for 1:00-3:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday, February 25 at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E 16th St., Holland.
