UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM) – The Hope College Flying Dutch faces the Belles of St. Mary’s in a MIAA basketball tournament semifinal tonight. Coverage with Greg Chandler from the MTI Center in Angola, Indiana begins around 5:10 PM on 99 7 and 1450 WHTC. The winner of that game faces either host Trine or Alma for the league crown and the automatic NCAA Division III tournament berth tomorrow evening.
Grand Valley State swept a pair of basketball games from the visiting Northern Michigan Wildcats last night. Cassidy Boensch had 22 points and 12 rebounds as the women took the opener, 50-37. Hunter Hale’s 23 points helped the men win the nightcap, 85-62. The Lakers entertain the Huskies from Michigan Tech in another twin-bill at the Fieldhouse Arena in Allendale tomorrow afternoon.
In state major-college basketball last night, Michigan won at Minnesota, 69-60.

The high school basketball season along the Lakeshore is winding down, with boys’ regular-season play concluding this evening in six scheduled doubleheaders with the girls’ teams.
The annual “Never Forgotten” twin-bill between Saugatuck and Fennville to benefit the Wes Leonard Heart Team is at Fennville High. Coverage of both contests starts at 5:40 PM on the Lakeshore’s 92 7 The Van.
Other doubleheaders include: East Grand Rapids at Holland, Holland Christian at Zeeland East, Hudsonville at West Ottawa, Byron Center at Zeeland West, and Unity Christian at Hamilton. Black River’s girls are home to Kelloggsville.
