HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A two-vehicle rollover crash in Wright Township injured both drivers, just before 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019, Ottawa county Sheriff’s Sgt. Matt Wildfong.
Darrell Rider, 28, of Grand Rapids, was eastbound on Arthur Street, driving a 2013 Chrysler 200, and did not stop for the stop sign at 16th Avenue, according to Wildfong.
His car collided with a Pontiac Vibe, driven by Conkline resident Linda Nowatzke, 71, then southbound on 16th. The crash sent both vehicles off the road to the southeast, when they hit a utility pole, knocking down wires and pinning Nowatzke in her vehicle
Wright/Tallmadge Fire/Rescue extricated her and Life Ambulance took her to Spectrum Health Butterworth with non-life-threatening injuries. Rider was treated at the scene for cuts, and bruises.
Rider told police he sneezed, which caused him to not see the stop sign.
