Kenneth Gene Artz, age 92 of Holland, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at Trillium Woods Faith Hospice.
Ken was preceded in death by his wife Shirley (Luscher) in 2006, after 58 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his great-grandson David Michael Marlink in 2014, and his sister, Lula Ringerwole in 2016.
He is survived by his children Bonnie Spikes of Holland, MI, Ed and Diana Artz of Kennett Square, PA, Harvey and Angela Artz of Bellevue, NE, and Betsy Artz of Kentwood, MI. He is also survived by his grandchildren Lisa and Fred Cox, Christopher Spikes, Eric and Katie Artz, Simone Stanford, Isabella Artz, great-grandchildren Samantha Cox, Enrico Spikes, Adrian Artz and great-great-grandson David Marlink.
Ken was known for his kindness, generous spirit, and love for his family and friends. He was an avid cyclist, loved walking in Kollen Park and enjoyed movie nights with his best friend, Orie Roorda.
A service to honor his life will be at 11 a.m. Monday, February 25, at The Pentecostals of Kentwood, 2627 44th St SE, Kentwood, MI 49512. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Please visit
