HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Among those reacting publicly to the shooting death of Troy “T.J.” Wells Jr. on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019 is Willie Watt Jr., the executive director of Escape Ministries.
Watt made a public statement on Facebook, saying he knew TJ Wells personanlly and talked to him many times.
Watt wrote that Wells was “a good kid who wanted to fit in,” and that his violent death is heartbreaking.
“If there is any kid out there that wants a chance at life who is looking to start over over some place else, I will personally move you,” Watt wrote. “I will be looking for anyone who wants to have a conversation about getting their Kids, Friends or Family member out of gangs or out of trouble.”
He announced a meeting at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2019, at Escape Ministries, 202 E. 32nd St. in Holland.
