Lorraine Klamt, 87, of Zeeland and Bradenton, Florida, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019.
Lorraine was born in Beaverdam on May 8, 1931, to Leslie and Effie (Sprick) Bekins. She graduated from Zeeland High School in the class of 1949. Lorraine married Ron Klamt in 1951. Lorraine worked at Big Dutchman, Zeeland Public Schools and in the family business Zeeland Dry Cleaners with her husband Ron. Lorraine and Ron were longtime parishioners of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and are currently parishioners of St. Sebastian Catholic Church.
Lorraine enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge and cribbage. She was an avid flower gardener and bird watcher. Her family was her greatest love. She enjoyed traveling with Ron, and especially spending family time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Lorraine is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ron, her daughter Sherrie Stefan, grandchildren: Kristin and Ryan Compagner, Jon Stefan and Stephanie Ybarra-Stefan; great-grandchildren: Reagan, Avery, and Quinn Compagner, Diego Mendoza, Lilly Mendoza, Camila Ybarra; her brother Ron and Lynn Bekins, in-laws: Art and Kathy Klamt, Mary Ann Kalman.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 9408 Wilson Ave., Byron Center MI 49315. A visitation will be held Monday from 4-6 pm, at the Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland 49464. Interment will be in Zeeland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may made to Hospice of Holland.
