HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Holland police officers and Semco officials responded to the report of a gas leak near Ninth Street and Pine Avenue.
Southbound Pine between Seventh and 10th streets, and Ninth Street, between Maple and River avenues, will be closed “for several hours,” according to an email from Ottawa County Dispatch, for the safety of workers correcting the problem. According to police radio-scanner chatter, it appears a contractor struck a gas line.
By 4 p.m. Tuesday, the roads appeared to be open, though some traffic has been rerouted to 10th Street, causing some congestion during the afternoon commute. The utility workers continued working on the gas line.
No injuries have been reported at this time. This story will be updated as information becomes available.
