HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The afternoon commute could get dicey in West Michigan, according to meteorologists at the National Weather Service’s Grand Rapids office.
Freezing rain is expected to turn to snow in Allegan, Ottawa, Muskegon, Kent, Barry, Van Buren Mason, Lake Oceana, Newaygo and Kalamazoo counties between 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019 through 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019.
Snow showers continue tonight through Wednesday, with accumulations of 1 to 4 inches possible through Wednesday.
Wind gusts could be as high as 40 mph this afternoon and evening — which could create power outages.
Drivers can plan on slippery road conditions and limited visibility developing as the afternoon progresses through the evening commute — into the night and through Wednesday morning.
