HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Holland Hospital welcomed its first baby born in the new year at 4:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 1, 2019.
Chayanne Nikolas Rivera proved to be more than an early bird — he was Holland’s first baby born in 2019, arrived at 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1 — well ahead of his estimated Jan. 8 due date.
Chayanne weighed in at 6 pounds, 8 ounces and was 20 inches long at birth..
His parents, Matilde Saavedra, 20, and Chaynne Rivera 22, were shocked when Matilde went into labor so early with the couple’s first child. Matilde said it was a smooth birth that only lasted a few hours.
