HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — West Michigan Works! has honored Zeeland resident Nicholas Borgman, customer service representative at Quality Car Wash with a 2018 Beverly A. Drake Essential Service Award for his integrity, commitment, and passion in his job.
The Essential Service Awards is a West Michigan Works! honor for non-managerial employees who provide critical services that often go unnoticed and unrewarded. Borgman was one of seven areaservice workers recognized at the Economic Club of Grand Rapids meeting at the JW Marriott Hotel, attended by more than 500 West Michigan business leaders.
Each morning, Borgsman arrives at Quality Car Wash around 4 a.m. to open the store and make sure the customer favorite—pigs in a blanket—are hot and fresh.
“I basically get everything in running order each morning. I make sure the store is looking nice so that when the first guests come in each day, they have the best experience possible,” he said, adding that when he found out he’d get the 2018 Essentail Service. “I was very surprised, because I usually go throughout my day without looking for any special recognition.”
Michelle Crook, site manager for Quality Car Wash, applauds Nicholas’ hard work and important role in the company.
“Nicholas’ dedication to his job is nothing short of fantastic. I know that if I ask him to do something, it’s going to be done and done well,” said Crook. “Team members like Nicholas keep our customers coming back, and our guests look forward to seeing him each morning.”
