TALLMADGE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – While family and friends of Brooke Feister are grieving, charges may be pending in a two-vehicle crash that claimed the life of the 26-year-old woman east of the GVSU campus over the weekend.
Feister was driving her SUV eastbound on Lake Michigan Drive near 14th Avenue just after 3:30 AM on Sunday when it was struck head-on by an westbound SUV that apparently crossed the center line. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ottawa County Medical Examiner’s Office, while the other driver, a 25-year-old Greenville area man, was taken to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital in serious but stable condition.
The case has been forwarded to the office of Ottawa County Prosecutor Ron Frantz for consideration of operating under the influence causing death charges, as alcohol is considered to be a factor in the crash. The name of the suspect will be disclosed following arraignment in 56th District Court.
