OTTAWA COUNTY (WHTC-AM/FM) — A rollover crash just after 2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, injured the driver and tied up traffic, according to an email from Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Brian Buter.
The crash of a 2015 Volvo semi-tractor trailer involved a rollover, on the eastbound lanes between mile markers 24 and 25. The driver, who has not been identified other than being a 60-year-old Florida resident, was taken to the hospital for treatment of what police termed a minor injury.
“The semi is and will be in the ditch for sometime as it has to be unloaded be for it is removed.” Buter wrote. “We are expecting traffic delays in this area for several hours, however the lanes are open at this time until additional equipment arrives, at which time at least one lane will close.”
Buter suggested drivers find an alternate route, if possible.
Wright/Tallmadge fire firefighters and and Michigan State Police troopers from the motor carrier division assisted Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies at the scene.
