HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Those little plastic bricks with infinite design possibilities are getting showcased at Herrick District Library on Wednesday with the debut of LEGO Lab.
Besides thousands of the mini interlocking bricks, creators young and old will find mini figures and other building components. Herrick district Library Director Diane Kooiker says its one more way for patrons to “connect, discover and create.”
Polly Kinnee. donated the room full of LEGOS to Herrick District Library in memory of her son, LEGO mega fan Zach Kinnee.
The LEGO room is in the library’s lower level, next to the Joe 2 Go café. Creators agree that what they build is temporary and can be deconstructed by others. HDL’s LEGO Lab will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday; and 2-5 p.m. Sundays. Children 8 years old and younger need adult supervision whileusing the lab.
A grand opening celebration is set for 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at the library, 300 S. River Ave. in Holland.
