ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Herman Miller is looking west for its new leader.
The Zeeland-based office furniture maker announced yesterday that Andi Owen will become its President and Chief Executive Officer, effective next Wednesday, August 22nd. She replaces Brian Walker, who is retiring.
Owen comes to Herman Miller from San Francisco-based Gap Inc., where she concluded a 25-year career by serving as the Global President of the firm’s Banana Republic retail clothing chain, overseeing around 11 thousand employees in more than 600 stores located among 27 countries. She also serves on a number of boards encompassing a variety of commercial and non-profit concerns.
Owen emerged following a lengthy search by Herman Miller officials when Walker announced in February his intention to step down following a 29-year career at the furniture maker, the last 14 as its President and CEO.
