SANTA ROSA, CA (WHTC-AM/FM) – Charges have been filed in a 14-year-old cold case murder involving a 26-year-old Zeeland man and his 22-year-old fiancé who were slain while apparently sleeping on a beach along the Pacific Ocean in Northern California.
According to the “Press Democrat,” based in Santa Rosa, 39-year-old Shaun Michael Gallon was arraigned this past Monday on murder charges stemming from the August 18, 2004 deaths of Jason Allen and Lindsay Cutshall. Authorities found their bodies inside sleeping bags in a secluded area of Fish Head Beach, north of San Francisco.
Sonoma County Sheriff Rob Giordano told the newspaper that detectives had been interviewing Gallon over the past 15 months since his arrest in March of 2017 for allegedly murdering his younger brother in their family home. Shaun Gallon had been the only person of interest that had emerged in the cold-case murder investigation.
A preliminary hearing on these new charges should be determined in a June 19th court appearance.
