HOLLAND TWP. (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 46-year-old Holland man suffered minor injuries after walking into a moving GMC Acadia late Friday night, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jay Douglas.
Douglas said the pedestrian is the at-fault person.
The incident happened at 11:25 p.m. Friday, when the pedestrian, described by Douglas as intoxicated, ran into Butternut Drive, just north of James Street.
The man was wearing all dark clothing and was not using or near a crosswalk, Douglas said.
Wesley Glass, 81, of Holland, at the wheel of the GMC Arcadia, clipped the pedestrian, Douglas aid.
Glass was wearing a seatbelt and not injured, Douglas said, and the pedestrian was in “good condition” at Holland Hospital.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Holland Township/Park Township unit and road patrol deputies responded to the incident, along with AMR Ambulance.
