SAUGATUCK TWP. (WHTC-AM/FM) — Saugatuck Township officials appointed Chris Roerig interim township supervisor, during a special board meeting Tuesday night, according to the Holland Sentinel.
Four trustees face recall. Late Tuesday, recall organizers Kathy Sturm and Cindy Osman announced four candidates running against them for office, including former township supervisor Bill Wester, running for the Clerk Brad Rudich’s job and Jon Helmrich, running for Treasurer Lori Babinski’s seat.
Stacey Aldrich and Abby Bigford are running to replace trustees Roy McIlwaine and Douglas Lane.
Wester is a small business owner. Helmrich has 25 years of financial planning experience, working with businesses and non-profits.
Stacey Aldrich has been running her own business for the last 30 years, and earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do at age 55.
Abby Bigford earned a criminal justice bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University and worked at the Allegan County Circuit Court’s Family Division for 15 years.
“We are delighted that these four candidates, with their experience and qualifications have stepped forward to serve on the Township Board,” said Osman, in a statement announcing the candidates
Sturm called the four candidates’ experience “unmatched.”
