HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Wtih the Natiional Weather Service predicting 1 to 3 inches of snow this morning, drivers can expect a slippery commute — and spotty fog.
A weather advisory is in effect until 11 a.m. for Ottawa, Kent and Muskegon counties.
Because the precipitation will be accompanied by winds gusting to 27 mph, Consumers Energy has issued guidelines reminding customers to stay at least 25 feet away from any downed power lines and to report those downed lines promptly by calling 911.
Anyone operating a generator must provide adequate ventilation, or risk poisoning by hazardous levels of odorless, colorless carbon monoxide, Consumers Energy cautions generator owners to never operate it in an attached garage, basement, or near any air intakes, and never add fuel when a generator is running.
