POLKTON TWP (WHTC-AM/FM) — A Nunica couple was hospitalized Thursday after a tow truck crashed into their Buick at the intersection of Cleveland Street and 80th Avenue in Polkton Township.
Rodger Vanderjagt, 74, and his wife Cheryl, 70, were in good condition at North Ottawa Community Hospital, with non-life-threatening inuries, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Matt Wildfong
The tow truck driver, Steven Vandentop, 26, of Grand Rapids told police he didn’t stop at the intersecion.
“He says he did not see the car coming,” Wildfong said. “He was cited for failure to yield.”
Ottawa County Sheriff’s road patrol officers were assisted by the Coopersville-Polkton Area Fire Department and Life EMS Ambulance.
