ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) — City of Zeeland officials are prepping to interview two final police chief candidates.
Eaton County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Tim Jungel is scheduled for a visit Thursday with Wayland Police Chief Steve Harper set for a Friday session.
Each candidate will get a tour of the city, followed by lunch at Zeeland’s Elbo Room restaurant, then head back to city hall for an interview, then visit the public safety building for a meet-and-greet with police officers.
Immediately after Harper’s Friday interview, members of Zeeland’s police chief selection committee will have a debriefing meeting. City Manager Tim Klunder told WHTC earlier this year that the final decision may not be official until May.
