HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – As the investigation continues into an alleged case of embezzlement involving the Macatawa Area Express, the operational leader of the mass transit agency has been placed on administrative leave.
MAX Authority board chairman Russ TeSlaa told the “Holland Sentinel” on Monday that Executive Director Linda LeFebre will continue to be paid “pending the outcome of an internal investigation” conducted by the board following notification from Holland Public Safety detectives last week that they are examining the MAX books over the last five years. The separate probes are looking into alleged defrauding of an undisclosed amount of money by a single, unnamed staffer. Not many other details about the case have surfaced since the case was publicized on Friday other than that only one person was involved, and no arrests were immediately announced.
LeFebre has been at her position with MAX since 2001, and has not commented on the newspaper report.
