HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – It’s more than just a parade, more than just a celebration of the Irish in downtown Holland today.
The annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins at 12 Noon outside of the Holland Civic Center, going eastbound on 8th Street to the corner of College Avenue, where the celebration will continue at a pair of dining establishments. As one of the event’s organizers, Cathy Blackburn, explains, there’s a new twist for attendees. “We thought it might be a really fun opportunity to bring families down and participate in trying to find your own ‘Pot ‘O Gold,’” she explained, “so we have pieces of paper that will have pots of gold (printed) on them that will be located somewhere along 8th Street. There are 10 of them, and the first person to find 10 of them will receive a great gift basket with at least $150 worth of gift cards in it from area businesses downtown, and a $500 will be donated to Community Action House in their name.”
The parade has a Facebook page with more information.
