HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The last “official” sign of last month’s heavy rains along the Lakeshore has been removed.
Although the waters are still high along the Grand River, the Ottawa County Department of Public Health has lifted its “No Body Contact Advisory” for that river. It was placed nine days ago in the wake of rising waters that crested about three feet above flood stage in Robinson Township.
The number of such advisories has diminished in recent years due to upgrades at the Grand Rapids water treatment plant upstream that has cut down on overflows that were frequent during storms and spring thaws.
